Destroyed my laptop's battery

I bought this laptop charger as a spare charger to keep in my car. As such, I didn't use it until two months after I bought it. My mistake, I suppose.
The first time I went to charge my Thinkpad X60 (which is explicitly listed as one of the supported devices in the item description,) the charger started producing a burning plastic smell after about a half hour of use. Concerned, I immediately unplugged the charger from the laptop.
The next day, I attempted charging my laptop using the OEM charger. Windows now reports that the laptop is "Plugged in, but is not charging." Despite my hesitation, I tried the new charger, too, only to get the same results.
So, yeah, it seems like this charger destroyed my laptop's battery. I'm really super glad I went with a third-party knock-off charger to save a few bucks.
I highly advise you skip this product, at least if you have a Thinkpad X60.

I purchased an adapter before which promptly fell apart. This one works well, it's made very well - never had an issue with it.

Worked for a while

This charger worked for a little over a month and then I plugged up my laptop before class and it sounded like a firecracker going off and sparked where the three prong cord plugs into it. Needless to say it doesn't work anymore. I would not recommend this to anyone.
